As an organization dedicated to improving clinical outcomes, Exactech was eager to work with the UAMS Center for Health Literacy in reviewing and improving our educational literature to meet the needs of patients. The Plain Pages online platform was incredibly easy to use, and the turnaround time on the review of our documents was unbelievably quick. The team at UAMS was willing to talk through challenges and opportunities we have to help improve the legibility of our patient-focused collateral. Their passion for improving health literacy is evident in all that they do, and we look forward to continuing to utilize Plain Pages as a resource in developing new educational materials.

The plain language services offered by the UAMS Center for Health Literacy through PlainPages.org have greatly improved our patient education materials for chronic kidney disease. Patients that received the materials expressed feelings of hope and empowerment to make their own decisions and wished they had been educated earlier.

I am very impressed with the ease of use in submitting documents to be reviewed and revised. You simply enter a little information and upload your document and it gets sent immediately to the correct people. I am also impressed with how quickly we receive our documents back with suggested revisions. They have helped us tremendously in developing patient documents that are written on an appropriate grade level and are easy to read and understand. I highly recommend Plain Pages!

In the past, I have participated in committees in which we spent months and months translating brochures and booklets into plain language. It was tedious and time consuming! I received a referral to the Center for Health Literacy Plain Pages and gave them a try. Our department needed an educational brochure for parents to be translated to plain language prior to submitting to our Patient Education Committee. My request was received, processed, and back to me within a week. I now refer their services to my colleagues.
